GREAT CAREER YAAHDIR!

KICKING

It is amazing how the kicking game has evolved in high school football. Punting and kicking used to be an afterthought. Now teams use the kicking game as an integral part of team offense and team defense

Malvern has been blessed recently with a long line of very good kickers, make that exceptonal. The 2022 weapon and exceptional kicker was Jack Ploszay.

Jack finished tied for 4th all time in points in a season with 46 points. Leader in the clubhouse is Brandon Chiazza (2016) with a healthy 56 points. Jack also tied Brandon, Andrew Mackrides (2003), and Brendan Carney (2000) with most Field Goals in a season with 7.

Tough to track touchbacks in previous years but Jack put a robust 23 kick offs into the endzone. That’s not too shabby.

If that wasn’t enough his punting average was 41.8. To put that number in perspective the average high school punt in the area usually hits at about 30 yards.
