NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Against St. Pius X Brian Kolmer carried the ball 40 times for 202 yards. The number of carries in this game stood as a school record for 41 years until Isaiah Wright surpassed it with 47 carries against CHA in 2021. Brian’s 40 carries still place him #2 all time. Wally Shields complemented Brian’s 202 yards with 107 of his own yards on 14 carries. Chris Clair beats GA all by himself with 4 TD catches and 2, 2PT conversions for 28 points. The TD catches were from QB Don Dougherty and covered 10,6, 16 and 20 yards.
RB Brian Kolmer helped Chris Clair out against GA by rushing for 175 yards on 21 carries. On the day, the Friars amassed 451 yards of total offense vs the Patriots.
It was Brian Kolmer 14 Penn Charter 6 in this IA win. He also had 12 of the 14 points in the St. Pius win. Kolmer scored on runs of 33 and 9 yards. It works well when your one guy can outscore the other team.
The Friars D held Penn Charter to 90 yards of total offense. Penn Charter only had 7 yards and 1 first down in the first half of this contest. The Friar offense accounted for 262 yards of total offense. The Malvern defense held Haverford School to 77 yards in the 7-6 loss. Brian Kolmer led the way on offense with 172 yards and the lone TD.
The Malvern offense exploded for 472 yards against Chestnut Hill. Like GA, Chris Clair beat CHA all by himself, scoring 22 points on 3 TD receptions and 2, 2PT conversions. 3 stars of the day against CHA- Clair 7 catches 144 yds, Shields 19 carries for 207 yards, QB Don Doc 11-18-260 yards.
Huge upset win against the Sallies.
Salesianum was ranked 2nd in the sate of Delaware. MP was anywhere from a 20 to 30 point underdog. A blocked punt by Steve Klug and a John Carullo recovery set up MP’s only score. As he did all year Brian Kolmer led the way and rushed for 150 yards against Salesianum. This pushed him over 1000 yards on the year. And yes Brian scored all 8 points.
Brian Kolmer and Chris Clair were Malvern’s one-two punch as they accounted for 114 of Malvern’s 137 points on the year.
Chris Clair’s 7 TDs on the year puts him in the top tier of Malvern receivers, All-time. I believe he might be the only receiver in MP history to catch 4 TDs in a game.
